This album features half a dozen hardware samplers, ROMplers, and synths from the 80's and 90's.

Due to the volatile nature of the sampler memory, and to add some challenge to the project, each track was created in a single sitting with most if not all lines performed live on keyboard with minimal quantizing. For several tracks, a period-accurate audio interface (Echo Layla 3G) and DAW (Cakewalk Pro Audio) was used.

The project originally grew out of an experiment to recreate the hardware setup used to create the music of Age of Empires I and II, but expanded into new territory as time passed.

Featured Hardware:
Ensoniq Mirage, EMU Proteus 2, Yamaha TX81Z, Kurzweil K2000R, EMU ESI-4000, Technics WSA1, and the Boss DS-330. FX provided either in the unit or via Alesis Midiverb II.
